The Nines hotel is thrilled to present the inaugural Churchill Nines … a luxury viewing of the Kentucky Derby! Exciting activations, Insta-worthy moments, experiential Southern fare, and curated cocktails celebrating the greatest two minutes in sports. Churchill Nines promises to be the Rose City’s social event of the spring!

An afternoon of fashion and day drinking with friends decked out in fantastic hats, floral sun dresses, and bow ties with contests for best dressed, most dapper hat, and most dashing couple! Doors open with mint juleps, grazing, horse betting, raffles, and photo-finish portraits to commemorate the occasion … all to benefit our nonprofit partner, Portland Backpack, who ensures children we see every day eat every day.

What happens if it rains on Derby Day?
Just as it is in Kentucky, our party is rain or shine. Don’t fret - rain won’t cloud our day in the eight-story atrium all under our beautiful glass ceiling!

Will the Kentucky Derby be broadcast live?
Yes, of course! We will all be holding our breath as we watch the horses race for the roses at the most exciting two minutes in sports on multiple large screens.

Is this a 21+ event?
Yes, it is. ID is required at the door for entry.

Will there be food?
Absolutely! The Nines prides itself on world-class culinary offerings. We can’t wait to share our partnership with one of the area’s best bbq just for this event.
